“ The only downside to this place is that they don't take reservations but it's worth whatever the wait is ”
“ I've seen a mixed bag of reviews on Sayulita, I happened to really enjoy this place on my visit. We got there extra early on a Sunday, just as they were about to open, line was already down to the sidewalk. Plenty of parking that's a plus. We were seated in the bar area, place gets slightly noisy, to be expected I suppose. Gets really packed because it's not the biggest place, come with a small group 2-4, likely increases your odds of not waiting so long. My wife and I each got a speciality margarita, A True Blue and a Hot in Jalisco. My Hot in Jalisco was delicious, had the perfect amount of kick with the Serrano infused tequila and I enjoyed the addition of the pineapple, I could honestly say one of the best margs I've ever had, I helped my wife finish hers, tasty as well. I also loved the chips and salsa, salsa had a nice consistency and was full of flavor. Chips were good size, they give you plenty, seen them on just about every table. Queso also was tasty, thick consistency but incredible flavor. I'd absolutely recommend this place for chips and salsa and margs. We also split some of the birria quesadillas, was it the best we've ever had? No. I feel like the meat could've been slightly more tender, but again it's still enjoyable food. I'm definitely interested in coming back to try other stuff, great Mexican spot. ”
“ Reluctantly tried this spot again months back. Much improved! Thankfully no fly infestation inside this time. Should be a minimum requirement for any restaurant. Lobster taco was tender and had good flavor. Plated neatly too since they can be messy. Fish taco was not overcooked or dry-very good. New chef? Better day in the kitchen? Better Manager? Mango Marg was a little too syrupy, but tasted like a good mango puree was used as opposed to cheap mixer or blended juice. This is how Sayulita should have been the first few times. Still can't get over how people wait hours for this place. Solid for sure, but not amazing. Then again, it's South GBury and people in Northern CT glorify slightly above avg restaurants. ”
“ I love the food here but unfortunately can rarely go because of the outrageous wait times unless you show up an hour before they open to get in line. The food is good but not good enough for me to wait an hour. They really need to implement a better system. No reason to not have reservations. ”
“ Really cute small restaurant. The bar is cozy with about a dozen seats. There is always at least 1 hour wait. The food is really good. You can tell really fresh ingredients are used. The blood Orland margarita is bomb! ”
“ Queso queso queso. The best part of coming here. The food is always delicious and service is always to notch. The only downside is the wait time. Wait times typically are at least an hour or two but it's well worth it! Lots of various tacos and drinks to try out. The steak fajita is served medium rare and delicious with the sauces and kick from the poblano. ”
“ You know the place is exceptional when you've been going regularly for over 6 years and forget to review it. Oops! The staff here is incredible!!! From the hostess, servers, bar tenders, and management they really know how to make you feel like family and that's why we keep coming back. I never get sick of the margaritas and tacos but all their other food choices are great as well. They regularly offer unique daily specials for food and drinks so a lot of good reasons to visit regularly ! When I walk in I feel like I'm home and just love the energy this place has. Many people might complain about the wait times but I find hanging in the bar is the core experience. So even if you want to wait for a table at least grab a drink or two and hang out w the bar chopping it up w the bar tenders or local patrons. I've never been disappointed here and will continue coming as regularly as possible. ”
“ My friend and I came here for lunch last week. After two circles of the parking lot we found somewhere to park. Then we put our name on the long list to get a table. We went to get a drink and got lucky and two people got up from the bar so we got a place to sit a lot quicker. The bartender was super nice and it was a nice atmosphere. We got two drinks which were very good (I got something with berries) and I ordered the enchiladas. The food was very good and I enjoyed it. ”
“ Absolutely a MUST! Always busy so be prepared to wait a bit but SO with it! We came on a weekday with our baby and the women at the front were so nice and welcoming to me. I've never been here before and it was too hot to sit outside with our baby and the staff was just so helpful and accommodating with our seating I was immediately put at ease! On top of the friendly staff, Sayulita also serves up the most delicious drinks and food. My husband and I both got margaritas and loved them! To start we had their chips and salsa- sad it is not included but it is a must when you dine here! Our 8 month old even approved of the salsa! So good! For entrees I got their Al pastor taco and birria quesadillas. I have NEVER gotten an Al Pastor taco this AMAZING out literally EVER (besides in Mexico). The taco was a little pricey but it was LOADED so definitely worth it. My only regret is just getting one because this was chefs kiss! I also loved their birria quesadillas- so so so flavorful! Truly loved my meal! My husband got their chicken fajitas and is STILL raving about it nearly 2 weeks later. Between the friendliest and most welcoming staff I ever encountered to the most flavorful food- I am absolutely returning! Also side note- my 8 month old tried each item and was probably even more obsessed than we were! The reactions were priceless!! ”
